BITS Pilani Goa
What a wonderful campus and enthusiastic bunch of participants!!
This Light Painting Workshop was held at BITS Pilani Goa campus. The total number of participants were 140, spread over three sessions.
The paintings shown here are done by the participants and I was super happy with the results that came out of the workshop. One of the major challenges is to inspire the participants to think out of the box and come up with something that the people in other workshops have not done. I think this time I got to see some really creative works. Hope you like it
And when you hear that the team wants to create the light painters landing from a space ship, you say Wow! That would be cool!
And other team comes up with this idea, I want to be the head juggler! How cool is that!
With Valentines day around the corner, there is always some hearts floating around, and some team always comes up with the idea of this.
Then there are some who take the creativity beyond and do total justice to the thinking out of the box. This team from a college in Andhra Pradesh, actually went ahead and made a human horse, with 3 people! I have to give it to them for trying the most interesting idea!
And of course if you had three girls, you would definitely want to try the classic Charlie’s Angels pose! Thanks to the team for getting their patience right and not messing up the outlines.
Speaking of movies, there is always a team which wants to fight with sabers, just like they did in the StarWars! I guess its something with our generation!
And when there is a question of fights and war, one very simple but can be made interesting thing is the tug of war.
Often when there is no reference points for the structure being created, the challenge is high. It’s high also because all these are done in the dark, and it is left to the imagination on the direction and the placement of the strokes that make the painting.
There are multiple challenges in a light painting, because the space that you have is a 3D space, but the results are in 2D. Hence one has to be careful that there is not much of an overlap between the strokes.
I know that the colors are not appropriate to the colors of the flag, but the idea was great! This was also with a new light that I had taken for the workshop and it was interesting to see the people using it in different forms.
Overall a very satisfying experience. I hope that at least a few who had SLR cameras during the workshop try it out again themselves.
